Chandigarh: The International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is an annual event with the participation of about 52 countries. The Government of India sends teams of six students to this prestigious competition, where around 300 students compete in theoretical and practical challenges in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The top 10% of participants receive gold medalAnother 20% receive a silver medal, and the bottom 30% receive a bronze medal.
Indian Association of Physics Teachers (Indian Association of Physics Teachers) under the guidance of Homi Bhava Center for Science Education, MumbaiIAPT) organizes the selection and training of students through a three-tier examination process for high school students across India. Around 50,000 students participate in the first round of selection exams. 6 students who reached the third round represented India in IJSO. This year, the event was held from December 2 to December 11, 2024 in Bucharest, Romania.
The IAPT Junior Science Olympiad (JSO) team is thrilled to announce that our students won six gold medals! India was declared the best nation in the 21st IJSO.
A felicitation program was organized on 13 December 2024 at Vidyavarkadha Sangh, Rajajinagar. Students and teachers were honored in the program. IISC Dean Prof. Anil Kumar was present as the chief guest in the program. President of IAPT Prof. Ahluwalia, President of Vidyavarkadha Sangh, Prof. Dwarkanath, Vice President, Prof. Laxminarasu was the special guest.
