A woman died in Chikkamagaluru two days after giving birth in the district hospital.
36-year-old Savita, wife of Praveen Kumar, a resident of Shankarpura in Chikkamagaluru, died on the night of December 17 at a private hospital in Chikkamagaluru. She gave birth to a son by C-section at the district hospital on December 15th. After giving birth, she was shifted to a private hospital on the same day as she developed respiratory problems and heart problems.
Chikkamagaluru district surgeon Mohan Kumar said that Savita died in a private hospital where she was being treated for cardiac problems. “The child is healthy. This was her second child. And we’re taking care of the baby in the NICU,” he said.
The official said that the Deputy Commissioner has ordered an investigation into the incident.
