How Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs is driving gender diversity, workplace inclusion in the tech industry

Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs’ We Rise initiative is helping women return to work after a career break. It works alongside a number of women-centric policies to enable women to thrive in a developing workplace.

The journey back to work after a career break can feel overwhelming. We see or know many women around us who take breaks from work for various reasons and face challenges. Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs’ We Rise initiative is addressing these barriers head-on, offering practical and empowering solutions to women ready to restart their careers.

We Rise has designed various programs and modules to help them get back into the game. The initiative provides participants with training in technology and leadership skills so that they resume work with confidence.

Mentorship is a key offering of the program, where each participant is paired with an experienced mentor who provides personal advice and industry insight to help navigate challenges along the way. Participants are also initiated into a supportive peer community to share experiences and connect with like-minded professionals.

We Rise is part of Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs’ broader vision to build an inclusive work environment. The Leap Ahead Mentoring Initiative and the Magenta Women Employ Resource Group help women grow, lead and innovate within organizations.

DTDL also offers a number of benefits and policies specifically tailored for returning mothers, such as extended maternity leave, adoption assistance, and daycare support benefits to help women feel safe in the workplace.

Kanwardeep Singh Ahluwalia, Managing Director, DT Digital Labs asserts, “The future of technology depends on the opportunity for everyone to shape it. Studies consistently prove that teams with diverse perspectives create groundbreaking ideas. By providing a dedicated space for women’s innovation, we are taking an important step forward.”

Every year Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs offers unconscious bias training under the umbrella of its Spectrum Shift program to ensure the workplace is equitable and welcoming for all.

DTDL is a leader in promoting gender diversity within the tech industry. These efforts not only support individual career growth but also contribute to a more equitable and innovative technological landscape.
