According to the Gujarat State Institutional Rating Framework (GSIRF) 2024 rankings announced on Thursday, Gujarat University bagged the top spot with a five-star plus rating with a CGPA of 4.82, followed by three universities: Pandit Deendayal Urja University, Nirama University and CEPT University a Five star plus rating with CGPA above 4.5.
According to the ranking, 16 public and private universities have been given five stars and five stars plus in the ‘University’ category.
The names were announced by Higher and Technical Education Minister Rushikesh Patel and Minister of State for Education Praful Pansheria in Gandhinagar.
CEPT University, Nirma University, Gujarat University and Pandit Deendayal Energy University, are recognized as five star plus under the ranking.
Reacting to the ranking, Provost, Prof Trideep Suhrid said, “Earlier this year, in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), CEPT University was ranked sixth in the Architecture and Planning category. Committed to excellence in research. We are honored to be rated as a five star plus university and ranked top in the architecture category in the stateβ¦β
Nirama University Director General Anup K Singh said, “Our university is continuously improving its academic performance and is poised to emerge as a premier national university.”
GSIRF was launched by Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG) in partnership with Indian Center for Academic Rankings and Excellence (ICARE) with a vision to create world class institutions of excellence and excellence along with NIRF. The framework evaluates institutions on several criteria, including academic quality, research output, infrastructure, employability, and community involvement.
