Google has promoted Preeti Lobana as the Country Head of India

Experienced executive Preeti Lobana, who has been with Google for nearly nine years, has been promoted to the position of Country Head and Vice President of Google India.

“Following my more than eight incredible years at Google, leading customer-centric solutions, I am filled with gratitude and excitement to begin my next chapter in a new capacity as Country Manager and Vice President, Google India,” she said in a LinkedIn post. .

This development comes about five months after Google India’s former country head and vice president Sanjay Gupta was promoted to head of the Asia-Pacific region.

“Preeti’s leadership will be instrumental in deepening our engagement with India’s unique ecosystem, leveraging AI advances like Gemini to accelerate digital inclusion and unlock unprecedented economic opportunities for every Indian,” Gupta commented in a LinkedIn post announcing the development.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment with AI opening up unprecedented opportunities to shape the future, increase productivity, solve critical challenges and create innovative solutions,” Lobana noted in her post.

In her new role, Lobana will work closely with Roma Dutta Chobe, who served as interim country manager, and will continue as managing director for digital native industries at Google India.

Lobana started her journey at Google in 2016 as APAC Customer Experience Director. After serving in this role for more than three years, she was promoted to Senior Director of Advertising Client Services. Most recently, she served as vice president for publishers, partners, and advertising content team, gTech, before being promoted to country head and vice president.

Before joining Google, she worked at NatWest Group, American Express, Standard Chartered Bank and ANZ Grindledge Bank.

Meanwhile, late last month, the tech giant appointed former Apple India head Mitul Shah as managing director of its devices and services business to lead Pixel’s sales and expansion efforts in India.
