The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), a division of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), has designed a free online certification course in remote sensing, geographic information systems, and GNSS technologies.
Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), a division of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), has recently unveiled an opportunity for those interested in enhancing their knowledge in Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System (GIS), and Global Navigation Satellite Systems. (GNSS) technologies.
This certification course is designed to cater to a wide variety of participants including students, technical and scientific staff, university faculty, researchers, and professionals in related fields.
Things to know
- The program covers the practical application of remote sensing and GIS in various fields including agriculture, forestry, ecology, geology, marine and atmospheric sciences, urban and regional studies, and water resources.
- Participants can access PDF lectures, recorded video lectures, open-source software, and demonstration handouts, through E-CLASS and the ISRO Learning Management System.
- A total of 10,000 seats are available for the entire comprehensive course, and an additional 5,000 seats for individual modules. In addition, nodal center coordinators are allotted 25 seats for each course.
- Participants will receive a certificate of course completion if they complete at least 70 percent of the total session hours.
How to apply?
- Undergraduate and postgraduate students (any year), technical and scientific employees of central or state governments, faculty and researchers of universities and institutions, and other professionals in technical and scientific domains.
- Aspirants can register in person or through their respective nodal centers before the application deadline.
