If the match on December 12 ends in a best-of-14 tie after 14 matches, both players will play a tiebreak in a fast-paced format on December 13.
Players such as former world champion Magnus Carlsen have suggested that Gukesh is no longer the overwhelming favorite to win the 2024 World Championship after the match ended in a tie at 9 and both players tied on 4.5 points.
