Four killed as van collides with parked truck in Andhra Pradesh Hyderabad News

Four people, including a two-year-old girl, were killed and eight others injured when their vehicle rammed into a stationary truck in Sri Sathyasai district on Saturday morning.

Penugonda sub-divisional police officer Venkateswaralu said the accident took place on National Highway 544E at 5.30 am at Kodikonda Sira, about 5 km from Madakasira village.

‘We have assumed that the accident may have happened because the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle carrying 13 people (Tempo Traveler) went down from the left side of the road and hit the truck stopped on the right side of the road,’ he said.

According to the police, a group of 13 pilgrims were returning from Tirumala when they were near Kummara Nagepalli village of Gudiband mandal.
