Five soldiers killed in accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch: Army

On Tuesday (December 24, 2024) evening, five soldiers were killed when they skidded off a road during operational duty in Poonch district of Pir Panjal Valley, the army said.

A spokesman for the Army’s White Knight Corps, in-charge of the Rajouri-Poonch belt, said, “Five brave soldiers lost their lives in a road accident while on operational duty in the Poonch sector”.

According to the army, rescue operations are continuing in the area. “The health of the injured persons is being treated,” the army added.

Initial reports indicated that at least seven soldiers were on board the vehicle when it crashed and fell in Balnoi Ghora area. The vehicle was going from Neelam headquarters to Balnoi Ghora post.
