Delhi Congress brings ‘white paper’ targeting AAP, BJP Maken says alliance ‘mistake’

New Delhi: The Delhi Congress on Wednesday issued a 12-point “white paper” targeting the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP for their alleged unfulfilled promises and mismanagement on various issues such as pollution, civic amenities, and law and order. Addressing a press conference, AICC treasurer Ajay Maken slammed AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal and said his party came to power riding on the Jan Lokpal movement but has failed to establish an anti-corruption ombudsman.

“If there is one word to describe former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal here, it would be fake,” he said while releasing a white paper titled “Mouka Mauka, Har Baar Dhoka”.

“If anyone is the king of fraud in the entire country, it is Kejriwal and that is why we are here with a white paper on the Kejriwal government and also the BJP government at the Centre,” Maken said.

There was no immediate response from AAP and BJP.

Maken questioned why he could not become a Jan Lokpal in Punjab as well.

“If the LG doesn’t allow you here, build it in Punjab. Who is stopping you? You have a full government there, why don’t you build it there? It’s just an excuse. There was a party (AAP). It was formed 10 years ago in the name of Jan Lokpal, but now it’s forgotten.” There are,’ he said.

He also said that he would make Delhi like London. “They have made the national capital number 1 in pollution,” he said.

Maken added that forging an alliance with AAP was a “mistake” that needed to be rectified, adding that it was his personal opinion.

“I think the plight of Delhi today and the Congress being weak here is why we supported AAP for 40 days in 2013.

“This is the biggest reason for Delhi’s predicament today. And I believe Delhi has again made a mistake by making alliances, which needs to be rectified,” he said.

Maken and AICC Delhi in-charge Qazi Mohammad Nizamuddin, Delhi Congress president Devendra Yadav, co-in-charge Danish Abrar and Sukhwinder Singh.
