TDP-JSP-BJP coalition government should strive for balanced development of all regions of Andhra Pradesh: Speakers at FDNA Webinar

“Telugu Desam Party-Jana Sena Party-Bharatiya Janata Party (TDP-JSP-BJP) coalition government should strive for balanced development of all regions of Andhra Pradesh keeping in mind past experiences, which divided united Andhra Pradesh.” Speakers expressed their views at a webinar organized by the Forum for Development of North Andhra (FDNA) in Visakhapatnam on Thursday (December). 26, 2024.)

Former Secretary to Government of India EAS Sarma, Former UPSC Member KS Chalam, Environmentalist Y Krishna Murthy, Renowned Poet G. Gauru Naidu, M. Srinivas, Badri Kumar Rao and U Apala Raju participated in the webinar. The meeting was chaired by FDNA General Secretary A Aj Sharma.

After a hiatus of five years, Amravati sees a dramatic change in Andhra Pradesh

The speakers said that the coalition government should not limit itself to empty speeches but should show its commitment for the all-round development of the state. “The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Center was dependent on the support of the TDP and JSP and the state government should use it to secure funds for the balanced development of the state. The capital should be built to fulfill the aspirations of the common people and uphold the constitutional values,” he said.

β€œInstead of developing in the backward North Andhra and Rayalaseema region and Ongole district in the last 10 years, they have been pushed further backward after the bifurcation of the state. Migration of local residents from these areas is increasing. This is due to the failure of the Center to provide a special development package for the two backward regions of the state. The Center has also failed to implement the Special Category Status (SCS) and other assurances given in the AP Reorganization Act, 2014. It also reflects the lack of commitment on the part of successive governments to pressurize the Center for the implementation of the APRC. .”

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved Rs 24,276 crore work in the capital Amravati

They alleged that the Center had decided to sell the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP). The previous YSRCP government had failed to stop the Center from going ahead with its plans. “The coalition partners of the state, who are partners in the NDA government, have failed to issue a statement to the Center to withdraw its decision on privatization of VSP. The coalition government is satisfied with the statement on the issue,” they said.

The speakers said that the employees of VSP did not get their salaries on time. “The state government should pressure the Center to allocate captive mines to VSP and strengthen it. Instead of thinking of setting up a private steel plant at Nakkapalli, the state government should prevail on the Center to set up a public sector steel plant in Kadapa district,” he said.
