A special guest was present at the inauguration of the Student Union Office of the Campus Law Center (CLC) of Delhi University on Thursday. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav’s daughter Aditi Yadav participated in the program as the chief guest. It was the first public event outside Uttar Pradesh for the 21-year-old, who campaigned for her mother Dimple Yadav in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat earlier this year. Aditi, who graduated in international relations from University College London, is likely to enter politics in the future. CLC students Arpit Verma and Sachin Yadav, who hail from UP and are associated with the SP, brought Aditi to the CLC event, but Akhilesh gave permission, sources said.

During Question Time in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, newly elected MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who was sitting in the fourth row, came to the front seat to talk to Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi. After a brief conversation with her brother, Priyanka returned to her seat. This prompted Speaker Om Birla to gently remind the first-time MP: “Honourable member, you should not turn to the chair.” Priyanka did not listen to the Speaker but Rahul immediately raised his hand and apologized. He then called Priyanka back and said something to her. Priyanka nodded and returned to her seat. According to the Rules of Etiquette and Conduct of Members of Parliament, “A Member shall not sit back or stand in his chair. This is considered disrespectful.”
