The Congress party and some of its leaders on Wednesday received notice from social media platform X for sharing some video clips of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on their handles.

Opposition sources said the communication by X refers to a notice they received from the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Cyber Crime Coordination Center (MHA) to remove the content they shared, which is in violation of India’s laws.

There was no confirmation from X or MHA’s Cyber Crime Coordination Center on the notification sent.

In its communication to Congress, X also noted that it strongly believes in the freedom of speech and expression of its users through the platform.

Some Congress MPs and leaders shared a video clip of Shah’s reply to a debate in the Rajya Sabha on 75 glorious years of the Constitution’s journey on Tuesday, in which he spoke about BR Ambedkar and attacked the opposition.

Shah held a press conference at the BJP headquarters on Wednesday and made his stand clear. He alleged that the Congress leaders were distorting the facts and tampering with his comments about Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha.

The home minister alleged that the Congress had launched a malicious campaign after it “established” the opposition as “anti-Ambedkar” and “anti-reservation” after the discussion on the constitution.
