Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday wished the people of the state on the eve of Christmas and wished that the festival would inspire everyone to build a more virtuous and compassionate society.
In his message, the governor asked the people to meditate on the divine message of peace, love and forgiveness given to the world by Jesus Christ.
The Chief Minister said, ‘Christmas has brought a message of equality and brotherhood.
“As we commemorate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, let us reflect on the divine message of peace, love and forgiveness that he gave to the world. May this festival deepen our bond of unity and inspire us to build a more harmonious and compassionate society,” said Mr. Khan.
In his message, Mr. Vijayan noted that when war, genocide, and communal riots claim human lives around the world, the messages of Jesus Christ are gaining more relevance.
Mr. Vijayan urged people to support the message of peace and love on the birthday of Christ, who shines as a symbol of humanity.
“On this occasion, let us ensure that we move forward together for the future of the next generation and the progress of the entire nation,” said the Chief Minister.
Leader of Opposition VD Satisan and Speaker AN Shamseer also wished the people on the occasion of Christmas.
At a time when intolerance is increasing, let everyone understand the message of Christmas and accept each other by overcoming differences, the speaker said in the message.
Mr. Satheesan in his message said that Christmas is a festival that gives people faith that they can overcome all difficulties and obstacles in life. “May this year’s Christmas bring change and hope to everyone’s lives,” added Mr. Satheesan.
