Canceled BPSC Prelim Exam at Bapu Exam Center in Patna; Examination of candidates in other centers affected Competitive Examinations

The Bihar Public Service Commission or BPSC has decided to cancel the BPSC 70th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) Prelims 2024 held at Bapu Examination Center in Patna. Commission Chairman Parmar Ravi Manubhai gave this information in a press conference on Monday, December 15, 2024 regarding the alleged paper leak case.

Addressing reporters, the BPSC Chairman said that the re-examination will be held only for those candidates who appeared in the examination at Bapu Examination Centre, the date of which will be announced soon. “After the report of the center superintendent and the district administration, it was decided to cancel the examination at the center,” informed the chairman.

According to Ravi Manubhai, this decision will not affect the remaining 911 examination centers. He said, ‘The commission cannot ignore the efforts of nearly 475,000 examinees who took the exam peacefully in the remaining 911 centers. Their trials will not be in vain.”

Also, the chairman said that the final result will be announced along with the re-examination results at Bapu Examination Center.

Pointing out that there will be no normalization, the BSEB chairman said that the re-examination will have new question papers and asked candidates not to fall for rumours.

Action against unscrupulous elements

Manubhai actually admitted to the fact that some unscrupulous elements in the exam hall conspired to disturb the sanctity of the exam. “The commission’s IT cell and designated agencies have collected video evidence which is being scrutinized,” he said.

He said that efforts are being made to identify and control such elements. “Those resorting to improper means and violating IT laws will be identified. Two teams have been formed under the leadership of SSP Patna to trace the culprits,” he added.
