Condemning the cut in grants and delay in benefit extension under the subsidy allocated to various boards and corporations for the welfare of backward classes, the Kalburgi district unit of the BJP OBC Front will demand Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to release adequate funds for the boards and corporations. .

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, BJP OBC Front State Secretary Awanna McCarry alleged that the state government released only ₹57.04 crore against the sanctioned ₹1,600 crore for financial assistance for education to OBCs through various welfare schemes and 11 boards and corporations. Mr. Siddaramaiah projects as a backward class leader for his benefit but failed to protect the interests of the backward classes in the state, said Mr. McCarry and claimed that the then BJP government had released Rs 1,000 crore to implement welfare schemes under these boards and corporations. .

Among the total applications received for various schemes under Devraj Urs Development Corporation, Nijasharan Ambigara Chaudhaiya Development Corporation, Uppara Development Corporation, Arya-Vaisya Development Corporation, Veerashaiva-Lingayat Development Corporation, Vishwakarma Development Corporation, Bhokkaliga, Maratha Samaj, Madiwala Samaj, Savita Samaj. , Alemari and Ale-Almari Development Corporations, he said only 10% to 20% of applications appeared.

In Kalburgi district, out of 16,142 applications received for Swarojgar Yojana, Ganga Kalyan and Arivu Yojana, only 411 people have been benefited and only Rs 57.04 crore allocated by the government has been spent, Mr. McCarry added.

Mr. McCarry also demanded from the state government to give compensation of Rs 25,000 per acre to farmers whose red gram crops were damaged in Kalburgi district, with the crop estimated to have been damaged at 1,82,965 hectares. .
