Apple launched the iPhone 16 series on September 9, with significant upgrades and changes to the standard and Pro models. Apple confirmed that the new iPhones are designed specifically for Apple Intelligence, with the updated A18 chip in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus and the A18 Pro chip in the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The iPhone 16 series will be available for pre-order in India from September 13, with general availability on September 20. The details are as follows:
What’s new in iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus?
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus feature significant performance and usability improvements, as well as notable cosmetic updates such as vertically stacked rear camera sensors.
The iPhone 16 models are powered by the new A18 chip, which offers the same performance boost as the Pro models. The A18 chip includes a 16-core Neural Engine (Neural Processing Unit) for AI tasks, allowing for on-device processing for future Apple Intelligence features.
It also includes a 6-core CPU (Central Processing Unit) and a 5-core GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), with the GPU capable of advanced gaming features such as hardware-accelerated ray tracing. The A18 chip will allow iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus users to access AAA video game titles previously only available on the Pro models.
