The UN Commission urges Israel to address the root causes of the conflict and comply with the ICJ Advisory Opinion
The UN Commission calls on the Israeli government to comply with the July 2024 advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice by ending the illegal occupation of Palestinian territories, halting new settlement activities, removing settlers and providing compensation to victims. In addition, it emphasizes the need to comply with provisional measures to prevent acts defined in the Genocide Convention. The UN report will be presented to the 79th session of the General Assembly in New York on October 30, 2024.
