A dance festival is going on in Mamallapuram

Tourism Minister R Rajendran inaugurated the Tourism Department’s Indian Dance Festival in Mamallapuram on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the coastal town with its amazing rock-cut heritage attracts lakhs of tourists every year. In Mamallapuram, a lot of work is going on including the construction of a convention center in the TTDC hotel complex, Nandavanam Park with facilities for devotees and tourists and construction of an experience center at the Kinara temple.

Tourism Secretary B. Chandramohan said that the festival, which started in 1990, will be a program of traditional artists in the evening for a month like every year. Admission to the events is free.
