‘Santa Bow Wow 2024’, an event promoting animal welfare, compassion and responsible pet ownership, was held at Cubbon Park on Monday morning. The event was organized by CJ Memorial Trust (CJMT) and its #MillionIndiesHomed campaign, dubbed ‘The Mindy Project’ which aims to find forever homes for one million Indian street dogs and was also inaugurated by Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh.
Models walked the ramp alongside Indian street dogs in a fashion show hosted by fashion designer Prasad Vidappa. After indie pet parents walked the ramp with their pets and shared their stories.
Cubbon Reeds mulls legal battle
Cubbon Reads, the reading group whose secret Santa event in Cubbon Park led to its organizers being detained by police and Horticulture Department officials, is now seeking legal recourse by bringing together other groups and individuals facing similar problems. Park. Organizers said in an Instagram post that following their experience at the park, several others contacted them and shared that they were also affected by the same problem.
“We have always wanted to be a community, not an institution, but if necessary, we will form an association and work towards filing a PIL to make the parks more accessible for all creative activities, whether individually or in groups,” the statement said.
