Mr. Kumar also informed that the production of cocoons has increased and 2-3 tons of paddy is coming to the government cocoon market in Bandipalaya, Mysuru.
Keeping in view the lack of space, the officials of the silk department corresponded with the silk commissioner to the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) of Bandipalya to provide more land for the cocoon market. However, APMC officials said that the land is not available as a new water treatment plant, air-conditioning unit and solid waste management unit are also coming up in the APMC yard at Bandipalaya spread over 30 acres.
As land was not available in the APMC yard at Bandipalya, Mr. Kumar asked Deputy Commissioner Laxmikant Reddy to identify two acres of land around Bandipalya.
Increase in milk production
Meanwhile, officials of animal husbandry department informed in the meeting that daily production of 50 thousand liters of milk has increased in Mysuru district compared to last year and currently 1 million liters of milk is produced daily.
