Thalapathy Vijay buys ‘Bhagwant Kesari’, but not remake?

A reliable industry source has claimed that Tamil superstar Vijay has bought the remake rights of Telugu film ‘Bhagwant Kesari’ featuring Balakrishna and Srileela.

He bought the remake rights but has not done an official remake. The makers didn’t want to take any chances and bought it as some of the characters looked similar to the original,” the source added, β€œIn the film Vijay of ‘Premalu’ fame and young actress Mamita Baiju have a parent-young relationship. The relationship between Balakrishna and Srilila in KT ‘Bhagwanth Kesari’ also boasts of a liberal relationship. But the story and screenplay are as different as chalk and cheese,” he added.

Similarly, famous actress Pooja Hegde, who played the lead role of Vijay, will not repeat the original role of Kajal Aggarwal. ‘The rumor of a remake was false and baseless as Vijay and Pooja have good love tracks and songs, which are missing in Telugu films. It’s a straight Tamil subject full of romance and action,” he points out.

Now, the ‘Leo’ actor is gearing up for his last film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69 and he wants to deliver a banger at the box office. “It’s a very unique and thought-provoking story that has political undertones and is bound to enthrall his legions of fans,” he adds. It is directed by H Vinoth and bankrolled by Kannada production company KVN Productions. Composer Anirudh Ravichander, Bobby Deol played the role of the baddie.

Vijay’s dubbed movies like ‘Master’, ‘Varisu’ and “Leo” earned good money in two Telugu states and endeared him to the Telugu audience.
