Bhubaneswar: As expected, the Odisha government on Tuesday removed senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Vishnupada Sethi from his current multi-tasking post and posted him on special duty (OSD) in general administration.
The state government’s action came after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) issued a notice to Sethi to appear in the Rs 10 lakh bribery case. Sethi is likely to appear before the Central Investigation Agency on Wednesday.
Sethi served as Principal Secretary, Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Department of Oriya Language, Literature and Culture; and Department of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare.
Sanjeev Kumar Mishra, a 1997 batch IAS officer, was appointed as Principal Secretary, Department of ST & SC Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare. Additionally, he will hold charge as the Principal Secretary of the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and the Department of Oriya Language, Literature and Culture.
Manoj Kumar Sahu, a 2006 batch IAS officer who recently joined the Odisha government on inter-staff deputation, has been appointed as Special Secretary to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
