Cuttack: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that constables, constables and constables working under the state police will get an additional month’s salary. Majhi made this announcement while addressing the 45th annual convention of Havaldar, Havaldar and Sipahi Federation here on Monday.
“They will get revised wages with additional one month’s pay. Motorcycle allowance (earlier bicycle allowance) will also be increased from Rs 300 to Rs 1,000. As per the demand of the union, I announce increase in uniform allowance (shoes) from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 ,” said the Chief Minister.
He also announced the establishment of a new office for the Odisha Police Havaldar-Constable-Sipahi Association in Bhubaneswar. The Chief Minister also said that constables, constables and soldiers will get clothing allowance of Rs 10,000.
The Chief Minister also said that necessary steps will be taken to recruit fourth class employees.
Stating that constables, havildars and constables form the backbone of Odisha Police, the Chief Minister appreciated their contribution to the society while working in cold winters, heavy rains and hot summers. “Low-level law and order is well maintained by these personnel,” the chief minister said, adding that the state government was sympathetic to constables, constables and constables.
Majhi said “service and safety” is the main mantra of Odisha Police. He called to work with full responsibility and sensitivity.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister simultaneously praised the role of the state police in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, who was present at the event as a guest, said that the police cannot be strong and prosperous without the help of constables, constables and constables.
On that occasion, Majhi also accused the previous government of using the police as a political weapon. “The previous BJD government misused the police force. The then ruling party was deploying police at political events while protecting capitalists, businessmen and criminals.”
