Hyderabad: BJP MLA T Raja Singh on Tuesday requested the state government to drop the plan to construct a new Osmania General Hospital (OGH) at the Telangana Police Stadium in Goshamhal, keeping in mind the problems faced by local residents.
Speaking in the meeting, he questioned why the state government could not use the open land behind the OGH instead of constructing the stadium. He drew attention to the protest meeting held by local residents against the construction of the new OGH.
Raja Singh said that the stadium was already facing traffic problems and if the OGH is built, the traffic problems of the entire area will cause more inconvenience to the residents. A large number of people walk in the morning to walk to the stadium in the morning and evening.
Apart from organizing religious events, hundreds of teenagers play cricket in the same compound during holidays. Considering the request of the local residents, the state government should abandon the plan to construct OGH at the stadium and take it on the open land in the existing OGH.
