Police on Sunday booked an unidentified woman for allegedly making threatening calls at the Mumbai airport and giving false information about a “catastrophic incident” that was about to take place on a Mumbai-Delhi flight.

According to the FIR registered by the city police, the helpline of the airport’s contact center received a call early on Sunday morning from a person who identified himself as Zoya. She said there was a security threat to the Mumbai-Delhi flight 0045 and asked to stop the flight immediately. The woman said that she gave the information for the safety of the passengers but hung up without giving any details.

A few minutes later, the woman called again and asked if the flight had left for Delhi but refused to share more details. However, after proper investigation, the security officials declared the information false.

After that, a security meeting was held at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and the flight was thoroughly inspected, but the security personnel did not find anything suspicious. The call was declared “non-specific” and the flight took off for Delhi after significant delays.

In a case filed against an unidentified woman for giving false information with intent to disturb public peace, Preeti Mazvelkar, assistant manager of the joint control center of the airport, is the complainant.

“We have registered a case against the unidentified woman under sections 125, 352(4), and 353(1)(b) of the Indian Judicial Code and are trying to trace the mobile number used by the woman to make threats. make a call He will be arrested soon,” said an official from the city police station.
