ISRO has introduced a free online cyber security course designed for professionals working in central and state governments. It is called ‘Course on Jio Data Sharing and Cyber Security’ to be conducted by Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS).
ISRO said the mission of the free online course is to research, educate, train and nurture startups in remote sensing data and geo-information, aiming to create technological safeguards to protect critical infrastructure.
Things to know:
1. The course is a part of the outreach program of IIRS which started in 2007 with 12 universities.
2. It will cover theoretical and practical aspects of cyber defense and threats. Topics include an overview of cybersecurity challenges, software tools for secure data access, and ensuring secure transactions in web and mobile applications.
3. The program spans 14 days and is offered free of charge.
4. Participants who achieve 70 percent attendance will receive a certificate.
5. The course will be conducted from 28th November to 11th December, 2023.
6. Interested professionals can fill and submit the form to get the registration number for admission to the class.

8. After successful registration, sign in to IIRS Eclass platform to join live or offline sessions.
