In an advisory issued for Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at Sector-34 Exhibition Ground on Saturday, the Chandigarh Traffic Police has asked not to travel through Piccadilly Chowk and New Labor Chowk after 4 pm. The police have also made it clear that they will not provide parking facilities near the incident site.
The police said that they should stay away from the roads near Sector-34 Exhibition Ground including Sector 33/34 Dividing Road.
‘Piccadilly Chowk (Sector 20/21-33/34 Chowk) and New Labor Chowk (Sector 20/21-33/34 Chowk) may experience heavy traffic, so people are requested to avoid these routes after 4 pm. Police said.
Traffic restrictions will also be in effect after 4pm from the following routes:
Sector 33/34/44/45 to 33/34 Light Point to New Labor Chowk
Sector-33/34 Light Point to Sector-34/35 Light Point
T-Point Sham Mall to Polka Turn
Additional distractions include:
From Gaushala Chowk (Sector-44/45/50/51) towards Faidan or Kazheri Chowk
From Sector-44/45 Light Point (Double T) towards South End or Gurudwara Chowk
Bhavan Vidyalaya Vidyalaya from T Point towards Sector-33/45 Chowk
Parking lots
Regarding parking, the police emphasized that there is no parking facility in Sector 34 or near the project site.
Specific parking options include:
Sector-17 Multi level parking and adjoining lot
Dussehra Maidan, Sector-43
Open ground in front of Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Sector-44
Dussehra Maidan, Sector-45
Mandi Maidan, Sector 29
A shuttle bus service will be available from these parking lots to the venue. Participants must board a shuttle bus from the designated location and return to the same points after the event.
Organizers will share geo-tagged parking locations. Participants using Ola, Uber, or taxis must travel to the designated parking areas and use the shuttle service. No drop off will be allowed on roads near the venue.
“Do not park vehicles in unauthorized places, they will be confiscated”, the police warned.
