Amitabh Bachchan often treats his fans with new revelations about his life in every episode of his popular reality quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. This time, the actor shared his practice of buying gajra (jasmine flower) for his wife Jaya Bachchan.
In an episode of the 16th season, a contestant casually asked Amitabh Bachchan, “Jab mein office se ghar jati hoon, to mammi bolati hain dhania ya kuch aur le aana. Kya Jaya madam apak bhi kuch lanee ke liye kaheta hain (When I come back from work, my mother asks me to bring vegetables from the market. Does Jaya Bachchan do the same)? Amitabh Bachchan quickly replied, “Bilkul kheta hain. Ke dekhi hain, ‘Apne aap ko le ana ghar (Yes! She says to bring herself home)!’

Then he added, “Jaya ji’s gajra is very much pasand hai, so on the way, when small children come to sell necklaces, I buy them and sometimes give that necklace to Jaya ji or sometimes keep it in the car, why? I am Laggi hai (Jaya loves jasmine flowers so I often buy some jasmine garlands from the street and either give them to her or keep them in my car because they have a nice fragrance, which I love).
The contestant then asked whether Megastar had gone to an ATM to check his bank balance or withdraw cash. About this, the actor said, ‘Na to hum apne pas cash rukha hai, na kabhi ATM gaye hai, kyunme hume samaj nahi ata ke karta hai. Lekhin Jaya ji pass hota hai. I ask him for money (I neither keep cash nor go to the ATM because I never understood how to operate an ATM! But Jaya keeps cash. I asked her for money).”
