Hyderabad: The city police will start aerial surveillance of the city using a fleet of drones from next year. “We relied on CCTV camera footage to investigate the untoward incidents. From next year, we will conduct continuous surveillance in the twin cities using drone cameras,” city police commissioner CV Anand said on Sunday.
“This will make it easier to monitor religious processions and political processions,” he said. This decision was taken after the recent violent incidents in the twin cities including attacks on religious places.
It is said that the Metropolitan Police Complex has purchased more than a dozen advanced drones for this purpose.
