Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is coming to Parbhani on Monday (Dec 23, 2024) to meet the family members of law student Somnath Venkat Suryavanshi, who died in judicial custody after violence broke out in Parbhani.
Mr. Gandhi will board a special flight from New Delhi to Nanded at 11 AM and will leave Nanded at 1.15 PM for Parbhani by road. He is expected to reach the victim’s home in Parbhani at 2.45 pm and is expected to leave Nanded for New Delhi at 5.15 pm the same evening. He will also be accompanied by senior Congress leaders like Maharashtra State Congress President Nana Patole and Vijay Wadettiwar.

Bureaucrats are trying to cover up this matter and it is clear how caste has played a major role in this case, as well as other recent incidents in Maharashtra.
On December 10, massive violence broke out in the Marathwada region of Parbhani where people set arson, pelted stones and vandalized public and private property. The incident took place during the bandh called against the vandalism of the copy of the constitution kept in a glass box near Dr. BR Ambedkar’s Shalikan near Parbhani railway station.
35-year-old Suryavanshi of Wadar community is one of the accused arrested in the incident. About 72 hours later, he was found dead in judicial custody, causing a huge outcry. Opposition Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA), Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA), CPI (Marxist), Republican Party of India (A), Republican Sena, Republican Party of India (K), and several other Dalit groups criticized the ruling Mahayutti regime. for the event.
