Dense fog and low visibility at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) disrupted flight operations on Saturday (December 21, 2024) morning, forcing six inbound flights to divert to alternate destinations. Affected flights include domestic and international flights.

According to RGIA officials, two international flights and four domestic flights were diverted to airports in Chennai, Bangalore and Vijayawada. Among the diverted international flights, IndiGo flight 6E 086 from Dammam and flight 6E 094 from Riyadh were routed to Chennai and Bangalore respectively.

On the domestic front, IndiGo flight 6E 5012 from Mumbai and Air India flight AI 2829 from Delhi were both diverted to Bangalore. Another Air India flight, AI 2625 from Mumbai, was diverted to Vijayawada, while Akash Air flight QP 1438 from Bangalore returned to the airport of departure in Hyderabad due to adverse conditions.

IndiGo took to X on Saturday (December 21, 2024) morning, warning passengers about possible delays and disruptions. “Low visibility at Hyderabad and Bangalore may affect flight operations,” the airline said.
