Travis Head calls BCCI rulers, second in ICC one word game

Australian players including Steve Smith and Travis Head were asked to describe the International Cricket Council (ICC), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian team in one word in a scathing game. And their answer turned out to be more interesting than expected.

The game was hosted by the ABC Sport Daily Podcast and released on video ‘X’.

Seven Australian players including captain Pat Cummins, vice-captain Head, Steve Smith, Nathan Lyon, Glenn Maxwell, Usman Khawaja and Alex Carey participated in the fun game.

Leading the lot, Cummins called the trio ‘huge’, while Smith and Head set the internet on fire with their bold answers.

Head called the BCCI the ruler, putting the ICC in second place and called Indian cricket ‘strong’.

Smith, on the other hand, said the ICC was not as powerful as the ‘powerhouse’ BCCI, before making a quick U-turn. He later said, “No, I can’t say that, it’s a joke,” and called the ICC ‘leaders’.

Meanwhile, Khawaja’s long pause and ‘pass’ comment have attracted the attention of the ICC. The opener criticized cricket’s governing body after being denied permission to raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

During the Boxing Day Test against Pakistan last year, Khawaja wanted to display a picture of a dove and an olive branch on his bat. But his application was rejected.
