Revenue Minister Krishna Bire Gowda on Wednesday initiated measures to build their own taluk office buildings in all 65 newly formed taluks in Belagavi.
He answered the question of Jagdev Guttedar, Member of Legislative Parliament.
Although the previous government issued an order to create 65 new taluks, only 14 were ordered to build infrastructure with their own buildings named Praja Soudha. “But we sanctioned funds for 27 more taluks for their own buildings and other infrastructure,” he said.
Layout for ex-servicemen
The state government will direct all district deputy commissioners to make residential layouts for ex-servicemen, the minister said in reply to a question by member CN Manjegowda.
Jawan Samman Layout will provide sites to retired army personnel. As per the amended resettlement rules in 2021, regarding allotment of sites to such retired soldiers. The original rules said that such beneficiaries should get two acres of farm land. But it is becoming more and more difficult to find land, he said.
The minister said that 16,065 ex-servicemen have applied for land grants in the state. Out of these, 6,783 applications have been disposed of and 9,282 are under consideration, Mr. Gowda said.
