The owner of the meat shop was beaten to death by the employees

A 45-year-old meat shop owner was beaten to death by employees at his home in Begur on Monday after he refused to lend Rs 20,000.

Deceased Ali Afsar had given a loan of Rs 3 lakh to his employee called Akbar for more than a year but could not pay it back. Akbar began to demand an additional 20,000 rupees from the officer, which he refused saying that he had not repaid the earlier loan.

The accused had previously worked with the deceased’s elder brother and had also taken a loan from him. They had a heated argument over the matter, after which Akbar threw the officer to the ground in anger.

Thinking that the officer would get up and attack him, Abar attacked him with a knife used for cutting meat. The officer died on the spot due to severe injuries to his neck. The accused ran away from the shop after leaving the officer covered in blood.

Hearing the noise, the neighbors reached the spot and informed the police.

Begur police reached the spot and arrested the accused and detained him for further investigation.
