Amid the ongoing investigation into the Pushpa 2 stampede, the Hyderabad police on Wednesday (December 24, 2024) issued a stern warning against ‘persons spreading false information and misleading videos related to the incident at Sandhya Theatre’.

A 35-year-old woman died in a stampede during the benefit show of Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa 2’ at Sandhya Theater on November 4, while her eight-year-old son is in the intensive care unit of a private hospital. The accused, the actor and the theater management are being interrogated, while the child is fighting for his life in the hospital.

In the press release issued by the police, it has been emphasized that the video showing the facts revealed during the investigation has been made public. “However, it has come to the attention of the department that some people deliberately manipulated the video and put it on social media to create a false account that the stampede took place before the arrival of actor Allu Arjun,” the police said, and strict legal action will be taken. Against spreading such deliberate misinformation.

This comes a day after videos of bouncers/guards at the theater pushing people away with sticks went viral on social media groups. The police department is investigating the case with ‘great commitment’ and will not tolerate any attempt to discredit its efforts through false propaganda and speculation.

The department urged citizens to avoid making their own assumptions and, instead, provide evidence or additional information directly to police.
