The Telangana High Court has issued an interim order not to arrest former minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi executive president KT Rama Rao till December 30.

In relief for Mr. Rama Rao, High Court Judge N. Shravan Kumar Venkat on Friday (December 20, 2024) directed that the investigation into the case should continue and the former minister should cooperate with the investigators. The case has been fixed for next hearing on December 27.

Mr. Rama Rao filed a luncheon motion in the Telangana High Court seeking a direction not to take coercive action against him.

The BRS MLA earlier reiterated that he is ready to face the Formula E race legally as the Telangana government is going ahead with the case despite the fact that there is no element of corruption in it.

He said that the conversation with Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also made it clear that there was no corruption. Mr. Rama Rao said that the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is a corporation and there is a provision in the Act that funds can be spent through it for any developmental activities related to the city.
