Supporters of MLAs protesting against publication of photograph in newspaper ad

Followers of Kalaburgi South MLA Allamprabhu Patil protested against publication of their leader’s photograph in public advertisements in newspapers on Sunday during the inauguration of the newly established Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research (SJICSR).

Half an hour before the scheduled event, Mr. Patil’s supporters reached the entrance of Jaidev Hospital, the venue of the inauguration ceremony, and objected to the MLA’s photo not being published in the government advertisement.

The police took control of the situation within a few minutes and dispersed them from the premises.

The ad featured photos of All India Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge and KKRDB Chairman Ajay Singh.

The program was represented by Mr. Patil in Kalaburgi South Constituency.
