Shops on the footpaths in Melardevpalli have been demolished

Hyderabad: To clear encroachments on footpaths and roads in Vambe Colony and Laxmiguda localities of Mailardevpally, officials of Town Planning Branch, GHMC, carried out a demolition drive on Wednesday. Unauthorized structures and shops on footpaths, which cause inconvenience and safety to pedestrians as well as creating traffic jams, have been demolished.

The campaign was launched after complaints were received from locals that illegal structures and shops were obstructing traffic.

Rajendranagar MLA Prakash Goud visited the spot and held discussions with GHMC officials. He urged the authorities to heed the concerns of the affected people.

Deputy Commissioner of Rajendranagar Ravi Kumar said that the encroachment caused inconvenience to pedestrians and also caused traffic jams. “Therefore, unauthorized establishments or encroachments on the road or footpath will be removed,” he warned.
