Hyderabad: 124 students of the Samaj Kalyan Residential School in Bichupally walked 18 km on the Bangalore National Highway and lodged a complaint against the principal against Jogulamba-Gadwal District Collector BM Santosh for alleged abuse and assault.
In response to the student’s complaint, the collector asked the principal to go on leave and set up a three-member committee to probe the matter. Wanaparthi District Educational Officer (DEO) Mohammad Abdul Ghani, who is also the in-charge DEO of Gadwal district, confirmed this. Deccan Chronicle Based on the complaint of the students, the principal was directed here on Wednesday to go on leave pending an inquiry.
Unable to tolerate the alleged misbehavior of the principal, the students decided to file a complaint against him. To meet the collector, they walked 18 kilometers from the school to reach the collector’s building in Gadwal.
After seeing the students in the office, the staff informed the collector about the matter and he called the group of students to his room. In the presence of Additional Collector (Revenue) V Laxminarayan and other officials, Santosh collected details of the students, who informed him about the principal’s misconduct.
After hearing the problems of the students, Santosh formed a three-member committee to investigate the complaints of the students. He also suggested to take seriously the students who come to the office by walking on the highway and call the authorities if there is any problem in the future.
Ghani said that Tahsidhar will chair the committee. It is expected that the district administration will take corrective steps after the committee submits its report to the Collector soon.
