Racist text messages reported after election: 'Congratulations you've been selected...'
Racist texts asking for slave labor were sent to black people the day after Election Day.

A series of Racist text messages Black people were reportedly sent away shortly after Donald Trump’s election victory, with some school students also being sent away. Federal officials said Thursday they were already looking into the case. Screenshots of such messages flooded social media with Trump-haters commenting that it was, literally, only two days after the election.
“Congratulations! You have been selected to pick cotton in a nearby garden. Please be ready to leave your home on November 24, 2024. You will be picked up in our white van at 8am. You will also sit with Group C and say something nice. Sincerely, a Trump supporter,” Date and time adjusted messages read like this.

Who is sending these racist text messages? Who are the targets?

The FBI said it was aware of the attack Racist text Messages are being forwarded across the US. According to CNN and the AP, the messages were sent anonymously to people living in several states, including Maryland, New Jersey, Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, Nevada, New York and South Carolina.
People have started getting messages since the morning after the election day.
Almost all of the messages were from ‘Trump supporters’.
The University of Alabama said “individuals across the country have received these hateful messages” and urged anyone with information about them to report them, it said in a statement.
New York Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat at the loggerhead with Donald Trump, said, “The texts appear to be aimed at black and brown people, including students, and may contain personal information about the recipient, such as their name or location.”
Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said the campaign had nothing to do with the text messages.
“I’m not surprised by this,” one social media user responded to the news.
“Slavery historian here. Welcome to Trump America,” wrote another.
