Road closures and traffic diversions have been announced in the Pune camp area on Wednesday evening for Christmas celebrations, which have attracted huge crowds on arterial roads and main connecting roads.
These traffic changes will come into force from 7pm on Wednesday and will be in effect until congestion eases and will also involve blocking vehicles on busy patches of the road. Deputy Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Jende has issued an order in this regard.
Every year a large number of people from Pune and surrounding areas visit the many churches and the campsite. The arterial Mahatma Gandhi (MG) Road and connecting lanes attract large crowds for Christmas celebrations and shopping.
