Police have arrested three people involved in the theft at Kote Venkataramanaswamy temple

The KR Puram police on Monday arrested a gang of three habitual criminals involved in a robbery at the historic Kote Venkataramanaswamy temple in the KR Market area and recovered cash worth Rs 4.6 lakh and four two-wheelers from them.

The accused entered the historic temple on November 29 and looted cash from the donation box. Based on the complaint filed by the priest of the temple, the police analyzed the footage of various CCTV cameras in the area and arrested the accused. Their hometown in Gorantala, Andhra Pradesh.

Based on their statements, the police recovered four stolen motorcycles from different places of the city which were used by the accused to commit the crime. The accused parked the stolen motorcycle at a secluded place on the Hoskote-Chintamani highway and kept Rs 160,000 in cash in the boot space of one of the vehicles. Police said that one of the motorcycles was stolen from Kaggalipura and efforts are being made to identify the owners of the other three motorcycles.
