The government is going to increase the number of the joint committee of the parliament to investigate the two bills by giving representation to more parties from 31 MPs to 39 MPs.

The list of Lok Sabha MPs proposed by the government now includes one member each from the Shiv Sena (UBT), CPI (M) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), two more from the BJP and one more from the Samajwadi Party. the party
In the agenda of the House for Friday (December 20), Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has included a proposal to refer the two bills to a joint committee with 27 members of the Lok Sabha and 12 members of the Rajya Sabha.
The new Lok Sabha MPs proposed to be members of the committee include BJP’s Baijayant Panda and Sanjay Jaiswal, SP’s Chhotelal, Shiv Sena’s (UBT) Anil Desai, LJP’s Shambhavi and CPI(M)’s K Radhakrishnan.
The committee will scrutinize two ‘One Nation One Election’ (ONOE) Bills including the Constitution Amendment Bill.
Former Union ministers Anurag Thakur and PP Chaudhary, BJP’s Bhartrihari Mehtab and Congress’s Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are proposed for the Lok Sabha members panel.
Of the Lok Sabha members, 17 belong to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, while 12 belong to the BJP.
