One dead, 10 injured as bus hits truck on Pune-Solapur highway Pune News

A 34-year-old man was killed and 10 other passengers were injured when a private bus collided with a moving truck on the Pune-Solapur highway in Daund taluk of Pune district on Wednesday morning.

The accident took place at 5 am in Khadki village of Daund taluk, about 100 km from Pune city. Deceased Vikram Mohan Jagtap and injured passengers were traveling in a private bus from Latur to Pune.

“The private bus was going from Solapur to Pune lane and a truck carrying goods was also going in the same direction in front of the bus. The passenger of the bus was seriously injured when the bus hit the truck from behind at Khadki village,” said an officer from Daund police station.

“All the injured have been taken to different hospitals in Bhigwan area. Jagtap was declared dead at the hospital. 10 others are being treated and are out of danger. An investigation has been started on how the accident happened. An FIR will be registered based on the results of the investigation. ” said the police officer.

The accident caused a traffic jam on the highway for some time since morning. After the damaged vehicles were removed from the highway, the traffic jam was cleared.
