NPPA has demanded to make reading newspapers compulsory in educational institutions

All Kerala Newspaper Agents Association (NPAA) emphasized the importance of newspaper reading in schools, colleges and research institutions.

NPAA has planned to submit a proposal to the government asking to include newspaper reading in the educational curriculum.

In a seminar held here on Thursday, Sanish Cholakkad, Assistant Professor, NSS College, Vadakkancherry, highlighted the challenges faced by the print media in the age of social media.

The seminar was chaired by NPAA Secretary CP Abdul Wahab.

Keynote speakers, including NPAA General Secretary, PK Sathar, State President, and PV Ajesh, Treasurer, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of newspaper reading in fostering critical thinking, language skills, and civic awareness among students.

The seminar was aimed at inculcating the habit of newspaper reading in the new generation and developing a responsible society while protecting the industry and livelihood of thousands of newspaper agents across the state.
