The Bengaluru Bruhat Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had issued a notice for fire safety clearance to ‘One8 Commune’, a pub owned by Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.
The resto-bar on Bengaluru’s MG Road near Chinnaswamy Stadium was running without a valid clearance certificate from the fire department, according to reports.
Earlier, social media activists Kunigal Narasimhamurthy and HM Venkatesh had complained to the authorities about the violation. Regarding the complaint, no response has been received till date after the notification was issued on 29th November.
According to media reports, the authorities have now given the restaurant’s handlers a week’s time and threatened legal action if they do not come up with an explanation in time.
Earlier, an FIR was also registered against the place co-owned by Kohli for working beyond permitted hours.
