Australian spinner Nathan Lyon revealed that India’s young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal also sledged him in the first Test in Perth.
“You’re a legend, but you’re old,” Leon revealed to Jaiswal’s sled in SEN 1170 The Run Home with Joel and Fletch.
Lyon also revealed his reaction to the 22-year-old.
“Appreciate it, mate, but I don’t feel that old,” Leon said.
India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal also sledged Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc in his extraordinary 161 in the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Perth.
Jaiswal told Starc, ‘You are bowling too slow.
However, on the eve of the second Test, Starc said he had not heard of Jaiswal’s speed sled in Perth.
“He didn’t really listen to me saying I bowled too late. I don’t tell people much these days. I may have gone back in the day, but now I keep it up. Played that flick shot and I think I hit the same ball, and he defended it. I said where’s the flick shot, and he laughed at me, and we left it at that,” Starc said in an interview with cricket.com.au.
The second Test between Australia and India starts on Friday at the Adelaide Oval.
