Hindu priest Yeti Narasimhananda reportedly gave an inflammatory speech at another event in the city on December 20 after he was denied permission to hold a ‘Parliament of Dharma’ in Haridwar. Police are looking for the contents of the alleged speech, the video. which is rotating.

According to a video purportedly from the December 20 event at Juna Akhara, Narasimhananda, head priest of the Dasna temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, allegedly gave an inflammatory speech. Haridwar SSP Pramendra Doval said that he had watched the 15-minute video and was investigating whether there were any objectionable comments. βThe video going viral on social media is a minute long, but we are checking the entire footage to see if he said anything offensive. If hate speech is found, we will take appropriate action,” he added. Uttar Pradesh IG, Law and Order, Nilesh Anand Bharne said, “If he has said anything against the Constitution, we will take action.”
On December 20, the Uttarakhand High Court asked the district police to ensure law and order and comply with Supreme Court guidelines. Earlier, while refusing to hear a petition against the ‘Parliament of Religion’, the Supreme Court had asked the police to keep track of incidents and ensure video recordings. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Congress Vice President, Mathura Dutt Joshi said that the BJP government is violating the directions of the HC and SC by not ensuring law and order.
