The fourth National Public Court of Maharashtra of the year conducted by the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) disposed of 10,78,532 cases including 9,04,090 pre-litigation disputes and 1,74,442 pending cases.
Operated through three High Court Legal Service Committees, 34 District Legal Service Authorities (DLSA), and 305 Taluka Legal Service Committees (TLSCs), the Lok Court also disposed of 52,455 pending cases during the five-day pre-event special campaign.
More than 44 crore recovered from traffic e-challan cases
Around ₹ 44.88 crore was also recovered from 5,56,494 traffic e-challan cases, facilitated by virtual notices.
People’s Courts resolved various types of disputes including motor accident claims, bank recovery, matrimonial disputes, check dishonor cases, electricity and telephone bill disputes.
The next National Lok Adalat will be held on March 22 next year. MSLSA calls for active participation in advancing the goal of accessible and effective dispute resolution.
